Unix¶
Unix is a term used to describe Operating Systems that are based on Unix.
These famous Operating Systems are Unix-based:
- Linux:
- Ubuntu
- Fedora
- any other Linux distribution
- Mac (OSX)
Unix Operating Systems allow the user to perform almost any system management task from the cli, without relying on a Graphical User Interface.
